My very first blog post!

Here goes!  I think it is kind of scary and intimidating to write a blog, but I'm going to try and see how it goes.
For about six months ago or so I started my sewing journey.  I have found some amazing bloggers out there whom I've been stalking while trying to learn as much as I can from their fabulous blogs.
It all started when I came a cross a pin on Pinterest to a tutorial on how to make a bubble dress posted by straight-grain.com I tried to follow it but the bodice came out way too small for my little girl.  But boy did I get excited when I read that An, who writes that blog, was working on a real pattern for the bubble dress so I waited patiently and bought the pattern as soon as she released it and that became the first piece of usable clothing I have ever made.

And after that I was hooked!  I have been hoarding patterns and I'm slowly building up a nice fabric stash as well (don't tell my husband).  I made quite a few dresses, skirts and shorts this summer and now I've even made pants with sippers and all, really proud of myself!
I have been wanting to get a serger so I can get that nice finish on the inside of my garments as well as trying my luck on some knits.  So last weak I went ahead I bought one, what a joy!  It came with a class on learning how to use it and I'm going to that next wednesday, but I have been playing around with it and I think I'm getting the hang of it.
Now I just have to start working on my photographing skills and try to get my little models to be more cooperative.
Here is a peak at some of the things I have made in the last few months.  There is more but I don't have shareable pictures off everything.
